About The artist
Livia is a bespoke hand embroiderer for Art and Fashion who challenges the traditions and stereotypes of this skill by using unconventional materials. She has a strong graphic and colourful signature to her work and creates pieces that express her personal stories.
Livia graduated with a First Class Honours from the Royal School of Needlework in 2018 with a BA(Hons) in Hand Embroidery for Fashion, Interiors, Textile Art. During her 2nd year she was awarded the highest achieving student by the Worshipful Company of Needlemakers and best Final Project by the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers. In her final year she was awarded top student by the Worshipful Company of Broderers and best Final Year Major Project by the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers.
She has exhibited at numerous exhibitions including “Off the Surface” at Devon Guild of Craftsmen and at Premier Vision in Paris. She spent 3 months in New Delhi, working with Manish Arora’s design team, specialising in the hand embroidery designs. She is now based in London and works as a freelance embroiderer and textile artist. Passed employers include Alexander McQueen, Ralph and Russo and Mary Katrantzou.
